Look Who's Home

Doug's sister, Annalee, returned home from her mission to Tokyo, Japan this week. She looks great and we are very excited to have her home.
The greeting crew.

Doug was recovering from having his tonsils removed the day before, and so we cut him some slack on not being there.

Beach Fun

This last weekend we made a little impromptu visit to the beach after Ryan's soccer party. It is still really warm here (upper 70's) and so it was beautiful there.
The boys enjoying running around.
Tyler actually wanted to take a picture...which he never wants to do these days.
My boys.
Ashley and Maddie enjoying some quality beach time.
The cloud that you are seeing was from the fires we had down here over the weekend. It looked really beautiful hanging out over the ocean. Every time I come to the beach I am always asking myself why I don't go more often, it's only 20 minutes away...then I remember that life seems to get in the way. :)

Soccer Season

Ryan just completed his soccer season. He has come such a long way in one season...we are so proud of him. He played this summer and was less than interested in the whole thing, but something finally clicked this season and he became the little soccer machine. Scoring at least one goal in every game. No more getting frustrated when someone bumped him, or crying at the drop of a hat. He hustled and put forth a lot of effort.
Ryan in front of his team's flag...."Red Volcanoes".
Cutting off the play...I like it!
Enjoying some pizza at his end of the season soccer party.
His trophy. He was so proud of this trophy and was beaming when they called his name.
Ryan with one of his biggest fans. Tyler could be heard from the sidelines cheering Ryan on most games. "Go Reeya,(his nickname for Ryan)Go!!!!"

Prop 8...

I feel like my heart is really full and I want to express my gratitude to my fellow "Californians". This was a very tough battle and both sides felt very passionately about their viewpoint. I am just so impressed with the members of the church in California. There was a HUGE amount of time, energy, and money put forth by everyone. Our ward went above and beyond what they were asked to do many times and all of the hard work has paid off. Thank you to all for fighting this fight so diligently and tirelessly!

Halloween Fun...

We started off Halloween at Ryan's school for a little parade. This is Ryan's preschool class this year. He has a really sweet group of kids in his class this year...notice there are mostly girls (8 girls, 4 boys). :)
Ryan walking in the costume parade.
My cute little "Buzz Lightyear".
Ryan and Tyler did a little photo shoot for me with one of our pumpkins. We never did make it to a pumpkin patch this year.
Lauren (Our niece) goofing around at Grandpa Greg's house. We hung out there and had some good dinner, carved some pumpkins, frosted some cookies, went trick or treating, and played some games.
Dave and Ryan carving some pumpkins.
Caitlin and I out taking the kids trick or treating. I was a hippie and Caitlin was "Juno".
Ryan and Tyler after trick or treating. Tyler had already ripped into his candy.
We had a fun and relaxing Halloween. Ryan was so disappointed that it was over, he almost cried. I agree it is a very fun holiday.
