Ryan's Primary Program Part

Our primary program was this last Sunday. Ryan had a pretty substantial part...a whole D&C verse. I didn't know Sunbeams got such a large part. He did a great job!

Pumpkin Carving and Trunk or Treat Fun

We had a fun weekend of carving pumpkins and attending our trunk or treat party. The boys were very into the whole pumpkin carving event this year. They helped separate all of the seeds from the pumpkins.
Then, they helped Mommy with her pattern. Ryan was actually very helpful this year. He made many of the dots and followed the pattern really well.
Our finished project. I needed a pattern for mine(the mummy), what can I say I am not extremely artistic. Doug did all three of his free hand. I loved the "Yes on Prop 8" pumpkin. The boys especially loved the monster truck and the little baby pumpkin.
Our trunk for the trunk or treat party. What you don't see is Doug had set up a fog machine and a boom box playing scary Halloween sounds. The people in our ward loved our trunk,(we won first place)but they especially loved Doug's Prop 8 pumpkin. Our stake president even took a picture of it and said he was going to try to send it to the coalition. Notice Dave making his scariest face.
Uncle Dave and Cowboy Tyler.
Doug and the boys. Ryan is "Buzz Lightyear" and Tyler is using Ryan's costume from last year...we are calling him "Woody". Doug is wearing a fat suit costume that I found a few years ago after Halloween and only spent a few dollars on it. It was a riot!
The boys acting like their little monkey selves in a tree after the trunk or treat.

Grandpa Burton Turns 80...

Sorry, these pictures loaded out of order for some reason. A few weekends ago (I have been slacking with my blogging) we traveled up to Fresno for my Grandpa's 80th birthday party. It was a very fun party...with good food and lots of family.
My brother, Jeremy and Baby Lucy. He seems to have this effect on all the women in his life:).

Tyler and Jackson loved to watch "Cars". You could find them in the bedroom watching it many times throughout the weekend. It is cute to see these two be old enough to really play with one another.
The cousins decorating Halloween cookies for Grandpa Darlin's party.
Jeremy and Jennifer enjoying the party. Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy also traveled up from Southern California to be at the party.
Grandpa and Grandma "Darlin". I am grateful for my grandparents and the wonderful people that they are. Love you Guys!

A Much Needed Road Trip

My friend Becky and I were in dire need of a little break, so we headed up to San Luis Obispo this last weekend(without kids and husbands). Kelly and Julio were nice enough to put us up and show us a good time.
Kelly and Julio let us know about a beautiful 4 mile hike along the coast. I guess PG&E owns the land and they just opened it up to the public. The weather was a little cool, but perfect for a hike.
Some of the scenery. It was such a nice mellow hike and the scenery was gorgeous.
This is actually the cave that they filmed "Puff the Magic Dragon" in. They call it Disney point. I used to love that movie when I was a kid so I thought that was pretty cool.

There were pumpkin farms all over the place. I thought it was the coolest thing to see hills full of pumpkins. We went to the Avila Valley Barn and enjoyed the pumpkins.
Kelly, Julio, and Lucy
Baby Lucy is so darn cute! I love this picture of her with the pumpkins.
Lucy checking out the pumpkin fields.
This is not a very good picture, but if you look really close you will notice that there is orange all over this branch. They are actually Monarch butterflies...there is a butterfly grove near Pismo beach. There were a few thousand there this day but in a month there be triple that amount flying all over the grove. I haven't seen the grove in years, but it is just as beautiful as I remember.
It was such a relaxing weekend...I had such a nice time. I appreciate my husband staying home and taking care of the boys. It was a much needed break and I feel ready to take on the world again. :)

Kelly and Baby Lucy Come to Visit...

Kelly and Julio decided to come down for the Fresno State/UCLA game this last weekend. Since Julio couldn't come till Friday night and Kelly was bored at home, she decided to come down on Wednesday instead(Julio caught a ride with some friends). It was a lot of fun to have her here and I can't believe that I took hardly any pictures while she was here. We went on walks, shopped at IKEA,(Ryan loved that he is finally old enough to go to the play area by himself) and relaxed at home.
Ryan, cute Baby Lucy, and Tyler
Ryan holding Lucy. Ryan was very into Lucy and would become distraught when Lucy would cry. "Kelly you have to help Lucy, she's crying". He would also tell Lucy not to worry because he would take care of her. Ryan has been asking me about having a sister...much to Doug's chagrin. He asked me the other day if making a sister was hard work. Doug laughed really hard and replied, "For Mom it is." Maybe one day we can have a sister in this house.
Julio and Lucy wearing the cute witch head band we found.
Lucy tired of the witch hat very quickly. She looked so darn adorable in it though. Thanks for coming to visit us Kelly and Lucy it was a fun visit!

Car Washing Fun

I decided to wash the car the other day and the boys were very excited about helping me.

However, we never seemed to make it past the bucket. They stood for 30 minutes throwing their rags into the bucket and making the bubbles fly everywhere as Mommy washed the car by herself.
Thanks for the help you two. At the end of the car washing experience they were both soaked from head to toe. They had a good time though and I guess that's all that counts.
