Disneyland
So I finally broke down and bought passes for Ryan and I for Disneyland. I bought the very bottom pass, which has a million blackout dates. I don't really mind though because I don't enjoy going when it's crowded. Ryan hasn't been in at least 1 1/2 years so he remembered very little about it. Boy, did he love it though! I made the mistake of taking him on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride first. Let's just say he was not a fan! We had to go on It's a Small World multiple times to erase the scary memories. He and Tyler had a blast. He has asked me to go everyday since.
The carousel...Tyler started to cry because they were taking too long to load and start the ride. After we were going he thought it was great.

Ryan with his friend Lacy enjoying some of their cute Halloween decorations.
I think Tyler was impressed with his first visit to Disneyland. Now if only we can get his Daddy on board. As many of you know Doug absolutely despises Disneyland. I know what you are thinking how could anyone not like Disneyland. I blame it on the many times he was dropped on his head as an infant. :)

U...C...L...A! Go Bruins!!!
So we decided to head to the UCLA/BYU football game on Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. We had to be there to support our Bruins...you know how crazy those Mormons can be. :) We thought it was going to be a total blow out, but the Cougars fought pretty hard.
Our family showing their support through dress!
Mommy with the boys taking in the game. Ryan loved shouting out cheers. The 8 clap and yelling, "Defense", had to be his favorites.
As you can see Tyler started to loose steam and instead of cheering, began eating his books. Hey, as long as he stayed happy I was cool with that.
Ryan and Daddy cheering on Daddy's Alma Mater.

My parents were in town this weekend and decided to come and lend some support to the Bruins. It turned out to be a very fun game...especially when we won.
The score board for all you Cougar fans!!!
No football game would be complete without a trip to the original Tommy's Burger in downtown L.A.
What a fun night!!!!

Camping at Rock Creek Lake
We decided to do a little camping for the labor day weekend. Rock Creek lake is located between Bishop and Mammoth. Doug went to a scout camp up in this area this summer and felt like it would be perfect. It was a bit of a drive, but it was really beautiful and nice and cool. After getting home yesterday and seeing it was 100 degrees, we were tempted to get in the car and go back. Yikes!
Doug enjoying some fishing. He caught a pretty decent fish and cooked it up. I have tried trout before, when I was young and didn't really care for it, but this was pretty good.
Tyler warming up after playing in the lake.
The whole group...Tom, Monique, Ashley, Joe, Doug, Kristen, and of course Ryan and Tyler too!
Ryan playing with a cute caterpillar that Daddy later made into fish bait.
The family!

Joe and Ash getting ready to do some serious fly fishing!
Tyler taking in a different view of the lake...he does this all the time right now. So funny!
Ryan decided to grab a coal off Tom and Mo's dutch oven...I think you know how that went over. Poor guy!
Tom and Monique cuddling up at the fire.
Tyler trying to stay warm by the campfire.
Ryan and Tyler enjoying the lake in the early hours of the morning.
This picture is just so cute of Tyler I couldn't resist putting it in.
Doug got tired of using a fishing pole and decided he was going to just catch fish with his bare hands. What a manly man...this is why I married him! Grrrr!
Ryan and Daddy snuggling in Daddy's sleeping bag.
Ryan staying out of the rain.

We got in at 1:30 in the morning and had to set up the tent really quickly. The next morning we got up and found a better site and had to take everything down and put it up again in pouring rain. Luckily, the rain only lasted for one day. I don't think I could have taken many more days with two little boys who wanted to run around and get muddy and wet.
Ouch! I ended up shutting the car door on my finger. It was numb for 3 days.

Daddy and Ryan enjoying a little time on the lake. It turned out to be such a fun trip. The boys loved camping!

Pool Party Number 2!!!!
Everyone had such a great time at Tyler's pool party...so we decided to squeeze one more in for Doug's birthday. The weather turned out to be perfect. A good time was had by all!
A little pool baseball.
Grandpa and Ryan
What started out as baseball turned into see how hard you can throw the balls at one another. My head took a pretty good hit...thanks Dave!
Doug's birthday cake
Doug opening his presents. He got some really fun stuff! We were so glad that everyone could come and celebrate with us.
