"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" is Tyler's favorite book right now. He brings it to me constantly so that I will read it to him. I have to admit, I have gotten a little lazy and now I have recruited Ryan to be his little reading buddy. I am reminded of my little sister, Kelly, who made us read her that book at least a hundred times a day. I guess the classics never get old. :)

Monster Jam
What's the best remedy for a girl that has been sick on the couch all week? The monster truck show of course. We have been planning on going to the monster truck show for a few months now...Ryan has been talking about it constantly. Wouldn't you know we all got sick this week, except for Doug. I have had a miserable cold and the boys have had the flu. I knew that I was just going to have to suck it up and go since we have all been looking forward to this show for quite some time. Ryan has been counting it down on his calendar and marking off days waiting for it to come.
Tyler kept pointing to the trucks and then turning around and looking at us as if to confirm that we were seeing the same thing. This was his first monster truck show...seeing how much he loved it, I doubt it will be his last.
Wouldn't you know it decided to rain while we were there. Bummer! We were ready for it though. Luckily, the weather was pretty warm...65 degrees. The monster truck show is held at Angels stadium.
We had to improvise a bit because Tyler didn't have his own poncho.
Daddy let Tyler tromp through all the rain puddles on the way out to the car. He was in heaven, but we had to strip him down because he was soaking wet.
It was a very fun night(even with the rain). No doubt there will be many more monster truck shows in our future. Maybe one day I will have a little girl and be able to take her to the ballet, but I have to admit, monster truck shows are a heck of a lot more fun. :)

Happy New Year!
So we started out the night with a few friends from our ward at the Rain Forest Cafe. They put on a great little event. Ryan loved the children's buffet...chicken fingers, hamburgers, french fries, etc. They gave them all sorts of fun little toys as well. The best part was children 3 and under ate for free. Since Ryan is not quite four yet this was a bonus for us.
Mommy and her boys!
Ryan enjoying the fish tank.
The boys passing time until the apple cider toast.
They did a count down for the kids and gave each of them a glass of sparkling cider. Don't worry folks, he is not drinking the hard stuff. Ryan has never had cider before and he was a fan.
Later on in the evening we had a few friends and family over. There was more eating, and of course, game playing. Yep, that is Ryan you see in the picture he made it to midnight. I really thought he would have passed out hours earlier, but he was still going strong. I had to make him go to bed at 12:30...crazy little kid!
